Do you use the Camera + app on your iPhone ?
Wanted an easy way to publish your images that you take on the road dynamically with Camera + ?

We love the awesome iPhone application Camera+  developed by taptaptap, so it got us thinking ‘would it not be cool to have a gallery slider that would take the latest images from your Camera + profile when you have taken them with your iPhone?’  Well , today I am pleased to announce the first (in a series) of stack add-ons for Rapidweaver that does just that simply.

Setup is super fast, just like taking pictures with Camera+

We have just pushed out a small update to the FlowBox Stack for RapidWeaver now at Version 3.0.2

- Added iframe support . Just add class ‘symflowboxiframe’ to your external webpage you want to open in the Lightbox

- Fixed an odd occurrence where a YouTube ID with underscores would get rejected , there was a workaround for this but now we handle this automatically.

Learn more about FlowBox stacks over at our product pages

FlowBox our popular Lightbox plugin Stack has now received a major update compatible with Stacks 1 and 2.

Almost 3 years old … yes it has been around that long :D , we have now given it a Stacks 2 refresh . In addition to new functionality this still makes Flowbox a powerful addition to your Rapidweaver Stacks Toolbox.

The previous Flowbox was great and was the first to bring automatic lightbox video playback as a Stack but as we have seen with web design methods as well as ‘fashion’ we have now integrated native HTML5 (Video ) playback in a lightbox with Flowplayer still being used as last resort.

Not happy with the old flowbox way of handling YouTube and Vimeo? This has also changed for the better with automatic link support for

  • Vimeo e.g http://vimeo.com/34025760
  • YouTube e.g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ychmsJR6Rkk

Yes, YouTube and Vimeo will use the latest HTML5 player formats

Last of all a lightbox would not be complete without supporting images and this is also built into Flowbox as well as the gallery mode via a rel-tag. Note RapidWeaver pages already have rel tags internally so you will find this gallery mode is active , but you can change the rel tags to say just have Video specific ones or YouTube specifc via the RapidWeaver add link custom options.

There is no complicated link code to add to your page , or add/buy another html5 , youtube or vimeo stack or an iframe module of this stack into FlowBox . If you have a movie, audio file or a youtube or an image link once Flowbox is added to your Stacks page the rest is automatic to help speed up your workflow.

Add your links to your media

  • Add Flowbox
  • Publish
  • Perfect with Pulse CMS or DropCMS Stacks that will allow you to edit and and HTML links without RapidWeaver.

Changes and New Functionality in FlowBox Stack

  • HTML5 Video is primary medium for playback, with FlowPLayer for FallBack for non HTML5 browsers
  • 5 preset Lightbox styles combined and built in (there were two separate stacks in the old version)
  • Native YouTube and Vimeo link detection. Yes, YouTube and Vimeo will use the latest HTML5 player formats suitable for iPad

    Vimeo e.g http://vimeo.com/34025760

    • YouTube e.g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ychmsJR6Rkk
  • Image lightbox support for external image links

Live Demo

We are using the new FlowBox Code over at our FlowBox Product Page with examples of FlowBox opening YouTube, H.264 Video , Vimeo and Images.
