• Commercial Mode – Now working correctly with FlowPlayer 3.2.x license keys, this is if you want to brand your own player with your own logo then you buy a key from Flowplayer.org not SymfoniP ;)  , got an older key the upgrade price is pretty reasonable. Log into your FlowPlayer Account to see what version you have.

We have been busy behind the scenes updating our premium FlowPlayer Plugin for RapidWeaver, symFlowPlayer. Did you know that this was our very first RapidWeaver plugin – wow !

The most notable major changes are the following:

- FlowPlayer latest player integrated (3.2.2)

- Want to play the video/audio in a LightBox ? No problem, we have included an option to switch between the standard gallery mode to a lightbox enabled gallery. No need for extra stacks to be used. This is all controlled in the plugin.

- CSS JS fixes

We have just launched a brand new plugin and we thought what the hell let’s make it free too for RapidWeaver!’ . We call it symFlip and it gives you some nice WebKit animation effects for your images.

You can create links in the images to urls or pages in your project, and we have also provided some styled text header and footer areas too.

Watch the video, you see it behaves well in Blocks, Pluskit, Stacks too.

Having trouble getting a perfect setting in Final Cut Pro to play in iPad, iPhone and desktop for HTML 5 Video.

Don’t panic! One of our customers, Jeff from Node Productions, has been kind enough to produce a droplet to give you easy H.264 exports from Final Cut Pro.

These export settings have been tested in iPad, iPhone, Safari, and by the very nature of our RapidWeaver Video Stacks and Plugins if you omit webm /ogg video we automatically switch to Flash using the awesome FlowPlayer Flash Video player.

Following on from my previous post on using Miro Video Converter to convert your vidoe files in a snap. There is a new update now available with export settings for iPad and the new WebM format.

Taking a sample movie I had in Screenflow, that was 290MB lossless (1280×720 resolution and 1min 43 in duration). This resulted in an iPad formatted mp4 that was 14MB in size and a WebM movie that was 3MB , yes that’s right 3MB.

I should point out that the quality of the WebM; movie was good maybe not as sharp as the H.264 but at 3Mb who’s complaining. However the audio track was a little bit thin and ‘tinny’ probably due to the 64k encoding preset rate for the Vorbis audio track. Miro is updated regularly so I expect to see an improvement in the audio bit rate for WebM .

To get your movies encoded easily for HTML5 Video without going near the command line , easily and cheaply, Miro Video Converter is worth a look.
